Writing model, original:
My grandfather studied in a small village school. His class shared books, and the teacher wrote most instructions on the board. On Friday afternoons, the pupils worked in the school garden together. While some were watering plants, others were clearing fallen leaves. He remembers those activities fondly because they taught the class to cooperate. I wish I could visit the old classroom with him. However, I would not want to lose the learning resources we have today. Remembering the past helps me appreciate both old friendships and present opportunities. His story makes those differences easier for me to understand.
Plan a topic sentence, two supporting details, a reason or example and a closing. Use the grammar of this unit where it naturally fits. Check meaning first, then grammar and spelling; a longer paragraph is not automatically better.
Your task: Write a 90–110-word paragraph about someone’s old school days. Label an imagined account as fictional; do not claim one memory describes every school.
