Project brief and evidence

Create a community-helper profile. Interview a willing adult without recording private medical or contact details; ask about three tasks, one useful skill and one challenge. Confirm the facts, write a 90–110 word profile and present it for two minutes. Include one action classmates can safely take.

Your audience is another class. Your final product must contain accurate facts, not invented survey results. If you cannot conduct an interview, use a clearly labelled observation or desk-research method instead; do not invent an interview.

Produce, present, reflect

Prepare a one-page display or slide, a short written explanation and a two-minute talk. Label the source of each non-original fact. Ask permission before using a person’s name, photograph or words. Share roles fairly, invite one question and record one improvement after feedback.

Model planning paragraph: For our community-helper profile, we plan to ask a willing school nurse about three everyday tasks, one important skill and one challenge. We will request permission before using a name or photograph and will not collect private medical information. Our evidence table will separate interview answers from our own observations. The nurse will check the factual draft before we share it. Our display will explain how pupils can help safely, for example by reporting an injury to an adult. We will present the profile to another class and revise any unclear sentence after their questions.

The eight exercises document question, evidence, verification, display text, written explanation, presentation, peer feedback and revision. Submit real evidence for your own finished project; the model is a plan, not invented results.

Language focus
Use a question word + to-infinitive after know, learn, ask, decide: We learned how to shape clay. Do not add a second subject: not “how we to shape”. A phrasal verb has a verb and particle: find out (discover), look after (care for), pass down (transmit). Learn the whole phrase and whether an object can separate it.

Use a question word + to-infinitive after know, learn, ask, decide: We learned how to shape clay. Do not add a second subject: not “how we to shape”. A phrasal verb has a verb and particle: find out (discover), look after (care for), pass down (transmit). Learn the whole phrase and whether an object can separate it.

Dễ nhầm

  • Do not translate every word separately; preserve the meaning of whole phrases.
  • A fluent opinion still needs evidence when it makes a factual claim.
