Bài giảng

Meet the topic

Quang: Would you mind telling me how to get to the library?
Mai: Not at all. Take bus number twelve.
Quang: Thanks. Does it stop near the entrance?

Quang joined a youth competition about city problems. His group chose congestion near the school gate. For three mornings, they counted cars, buses and bicycles from a safe position inside the school. They did not collect drivers’ names. Their results showed that many cars carried only one pupil. The group proposed a shared bus and a walking zone near the gate. Some parents worried about bad weather, so the plan included a covered waiting area. The proposal did not promise to remove every traffic problem. It aimed to make one short journey safer and less noisy. The school asked the students to compare traffic again after a four-week trial.
