In double comparatives, the + comparative clause, the + comparative clause expresses linked change: The more people use buses, the less crowded the roads become. Do not use more with an -er form (“more safer”). Phrasal verbs: get around (travel), carry out (conduct), cut down on (reduce).
The printed reference contrasts /aʊ/ in town, /əʊ/ in road and /eə/ in square. These are British-style symbols: en-US narration normally has /aʊ/, /oʊ/ and a rhotic vowel /er/ or /ɛr/ respectively. Keep town and road one syllable; square includes an audible r in the American reference. Practise a smooth movement, not two detached vowel syllables, and accept consistent standard accent variants.
