To improve my English vocabulary, I learn phrases in meaningful situations. When I find a useful expression, I write it in a notebook with an example and a short meaning. I review a few items regularly instead of copying a long list once. My study partner and I choose five expressions each week and use them in a conversation. If a word has several meanings, we check the context and a dictionary. I also listen to different clear speakers. My goal is to communicate accurately and respectfully, not to judge people by their accent.
