Pupil: Could you explain why this wetland matters?
Ranger: It provides habitat and stores water after rain.
Pupil: How can our class help without disturbing wildlife?
A school nature club studied a nearby wetland. Members recorded birds from a public path and noted the plants growing at the water’s edge. They discovered that the wetland provided food, shelter and space for water after heavy rain. A local conservation worker explained that litter removal alone would not protect every species. Water quality and connected habitats mattered too. The pupils prepared a summary that distinguished their own observations from the worker’s explanation. They did not enter nesting areas or claim that a single visit proved a population was increasing. Their report proposed regular observation and less plastic waste at the nearby market. Protecting an ecosystem required both careful evidence and practical cooperation.
