A complete speaking model
Before choosing a path, I would compare daily duties, training requirements, costs and working conditions. A mentor’s experience can help me ask better questions, but it is not a guarantee. For example, someone interested in science might consider analysis, teaching or technical maintenance; the ordinary tasks are different even when the subject overlaps. I would ask a worker about an ordinary week, then check current course recognition and entry requirements. If a detail is missing, I should request it rather than use an old advertisement as if it were current. I also want to develop transferable communication and problem-solving skills while keeping more than one realistic route open. Choosing a next step does not require pretending to predict an entire working life. A review date lets me reconsider the plan as evidence and interests change.
Follow-up: Should you copy a mentor’s route?
Response: No. Use the story to frame questions, then check your own interests, circumstances and eligible routes.
