A complete speaking model
For Cultural Diversity Day, I propose three stations: a sourced story display, a voluntary craft activity and a discussion about how traditions change. Each label should name the particular community and occasion. For example, a New Year display can explain the purpose of a family gathering without claiming that every family prepares the same food. We need a quiet alternative and should avoid asking any one student to represent an entire country. Let’s divide research, access checks and presentation duties fairly. Before opening, each team should ask whether a borrowed story has been used with permission and whether its source is visible. Visitors can compare an unfamiliar practice with one they know, but they should not rank cultures as if one example proved superiority. Our aim is thoughtful conversation, not pressure to join a celebration or adopt a belief.
Follow-up: What if someone does not want to take part?
Response: Offer the alternative activity respectfully; participation in a particular festival activity must be voluntary.
