Original reading passage
This fictional school report describes Green Valley Nature Park. A forest and a wetland provide habitats for birds and small animals. Visitors walk on marked paths so they do not damage plants or disturb nesting areas. The student team read the park’s visitor information before planning a trip. They chose a guided walk rather than an activity that involved feeding wild animals. On the walk, a ranger explained that protecting a habitat also meant reducing waste outside the park. Water carried rubbish from nearby streets towards the wetland. Back at school, the team proposed refillable bottles and better bins. They understood that a protected area was not separate from the people and places around it.
