Mai: What are you preparing for our class discussion about our customs and traditions?
Nam: I have a short report. Here is my main idea.

One custom I value is our monthly family meal. Everyone helps with a small task before we eat. My grandfather tells a short story,and younger family members share their news. The custom makes us feel connected,but we adapt it when someone is busy. A person can join by a video call instead of travelling a long distance. We also cook only what we can finish. For me,preserving a tradition means keeping its caring purpose,not following every old detail without thinking.
