A complete speaking model

A responsible ecotourist asks about access, safety and local benefit before booking. During the visit, I would follow the guide, keep to paths and avoid feeding wildlife. I would also ask residents before taking photographs. A tour is not ecological merely because it visits a natural place; its behaviour and impacts matter.

Interaction and development

A: What should I bring on the nature walk?
B: You should bring a refillable bottle and a hat.
A: Can I pick a few flowers as souvenirs?
B: I wouldn’t recommend it. Leave plants for the habitat and take a photograph from the path instead.

Give a position, support it with a concrete example, acknowledge a limitation and invite a response. A partner should ask a real follow-up question, not read a separate prepared speech.

Have you packed your bottle? ↗ What will you bring? ↘ I will bring less packaging. ↘ These are neutral practice contours: yes/no questions often rise; Wh-questions and statements often fall. Context can change a contour. Read a helpful guide–visitor exchange without treating these tendencies as universal rules.
Grammar
First conditional: if + present simple, will/can/may + base verb for a real future possibility: If we leave early, we will avoid the heat. Second conditional: if + past simple, would + base verb for an imagined or unlikely situation: If I owned a boat, I would use it responsibly. Were is a standard hypothetical form with all persons; was is also common with I/he/she in informal usage. Do not normally use will in the if-clause.
