Getting Started
Read the passage. Mai: What are you preparing for our class discussion about ethnic groups of Viet Nam?
Nam: I have a short report. Here is my main idea.
A respectful cultural visit begins with questions, not assumptions. Last month, our class visited a community museum. We learnt about weaving and the design of a stilt house. I was interested in how an artisan explained her own work. We asked before taking photographs and wrote names carefully. We also learnt that traditions can change and that people within one group have different lives. I would recommend this visit because it encourages curiosity and respect rather than simple stereotypes.
Mai: Can you give a reason for your opinion?
Nam: Yes. We should consider both benefits and difficulties.
What is Nam preparing? Answer with a word or short phrase, not a full sentence.
